URICH
LOUTOO BURSARIES
for Children of Members at UWI
Three
children (undergraduates) who are attending the University of the
West Indies (UWI) on a full time basis are eligible to qualify for
the award of TTUTA’s Urich Loutoo Bursaries this year. Prospective
awardees must be children of teachers who have been TTUTA members
for more than two years. Each bursary is worth five thousand dollars
($5,000.00). TTUTA contributes fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00)
annually to the UWI Development and Endowment Fund from which these
funds are disbursed.
The
Award is open to students in three Faculties: the Faculty of Humanities
and Education with emphasis on Theatre Arts, Musical Arts Special,
or Visual Arts Special; the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences
with emphasis on Mathematics, Chemistry or Physics and; the Faculty
of Social Sciences with emphasis on Social Work or Management Studies.
The bursaries cover one academic year.
The
advertisement for bursaries usually appears in the daily newspapers
and on the UWI campus during the period April to May each year.
The Campus Committee for Undergraduate Awards is responsible for
selecting the awardees with the necessary confirmation from TTUTA.
