Unimed Group Health Plan

The Unimed Group Health Plan will become fully operational from January 1st 2005. The former TTUTA Group Health Plan will cease to exist from July 31st 2005. Any outstanding claims submitted up to this date will be processed.

Unimed is a Single Coverage Plan for all teachers with at least two years continuous service. This Plan covers only the individual teacher and does NOT cover any other family members. It is COMPULSARY for all teachers who qualify. Teachers on contract are NOT covered.

This plan has been negotiated between the Association (TTUTA) and the Chief Personnel Officer. The cost of coverage is shared between employee (the teacher) and the employer (Ministry of Education).
Single coverage is $52 per month, the teacher contributing $26 and the Ministry contributing $26.

Enrolment Cards

To register you must complete an Enrolment Card and return it to the Ministry of Education through your school principal. Please DO NOT send any of these cards to any of the TTUTA offices.

Enrolment cards must be stamped by the Ministry of Education and forwarded to M & M Brokers for filing. M & M are the brokers selected by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago and will be responsible for the processing and payment of all claims.

Enrolment Cards are now available at TTUTA offices for teachers who have not already completed cards. Claims WILL NOT be paid to teachers who have not completed Enrolment Cards.
